I moved to Australia 6yrs ago. Really started to get homesick in only a few years. That was when I stumbled upon www.keeptouch.net. It's a forum by Singaporeans for Singaporeans to find answers to queries and also to provide help to others.

There, I met some good frens and even old school mates! We not only kept in contact thru the forum but also on MSN. It became a daily ritual for me and we shared good & bad times.

A close fren then introduced me to online gaming and soon Maple took over :) I made alot of frens there. Some close, some casual and some special :x

I had stumbled into a realm where I could be anyone I wanted to be, where no 1 would judge u by ur looks, Nationality or race. It also rekindled memories of Singapore. The language, culture, food and events! It's like actually being there!

2 years in Maple and I've got close frens to show for it. 2 didis, trusted girlfrens and of cos, my Pouvoir guildies. During my last trip to SG, I've met up with Char, Genie, Guin, Bev, Clemmie, Jess, Angie, Josh, Dre, Danny, Will, Boye, Jaja, Tom, Tiffy,Bing, Ting, Tips, GT, XP, Yuan, Sher, Panda, Alice, Dee, XC, Raki, Sarah, Jei, Jojo, Jolvin, Chris, Jerry, Angeline, Gerry, Melody,YX, Xuan, Victor, Cia, Eileen, Amanda, Yann, Drew and more @.@ (Sorry if I've left out ur names but it's ALOT of people that I've met!)

These frens taught me to be myself in-game :) Yes, I am me. The person u meet online is the same as real-life. HOWEVER... I find that I'm fiercer in-game :x Mebbe its due to the lack of expressions in-game... hehe.

From Maple we've moved onto CabalSEA. Due to work and personal commitments, frens started to quit gaming and sadly most of my Maple frens have left. New frens were made and new relationships started.

Online relationships are not a neccessity but more like just the company of the person u click with. Some become close frens while others become ur other half. I'm all for online romances, be it long or short distance. I do believe that love conquers all and it's the effort and time put into a relationship that makes it work.

I've got frens who are currently in such relationships and are blissfully in love ~ right Sara & Steph? :P I'll admit that I've fallen victim too...

How do virtual relationships differ from reality?
They dun. Not much anyways.

1. We talk on skype everyday
2. We share our day
3. We have 'KTV' sessions
4. We have movie dates
5. We even go to bed and wake up at the same time!

For me, virtual reflects reality.
